Ex-Norwich City players - some retired, some still active - will be back at Carrow Road on Sunday for a reunion and exhibition match in aid of the club's Historical Trust.

A team of Canaries legends, captained by Bryan Gunn, will take on former Ipswich players, who will be led by Simon Milton.

Former Canaries right back Steen Nedergaard will pull on his boots again.

“It will be fantastic to see so many people who I haven't seen for some time,” he said. “I'm looking forward to meeting the players I used to play with at Norwich.

“I now work for the Danish Players' Union. I negotiate contracts for players who are members of the PFA in Denmark. We also represent and look after players, and I enjoy it. The people I work with are very competent and it's a learning process for me as it's where I want to be in the end.

“I'll have five or six days in Norwich, I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone at the club. It's strange how time passes by and it's a long time since I've been back.”

Midfielder Gary Holt, who still lives close to the city and is currently with Wycombe Wanderers said he was delighted to be returning.

“I am really looking forward to coming along to Carrow Road on Sunday,” he said. “I came to see Norwich play Blackpool and it was very entertaining and it was really good to see how the club has progressed since I last was there, and this Sunday is definitely going to be a fantastic day.

“Norwich still has a big place in my heart, and I live with my family in the area and we hope to settle there once I finish my playing career. The more I can help the better, and to support something like the Historical Trust is a really important thing to do.”

The event starts with a parade of former players at 2pm, with the exhibition match kicking off at 3pm. Only the Jarrold Stand will be open, with tickets priced £5 for adults and £1 for concessions.

The following players have confirmed their attendance on the day: Terry Allcock, Ron Bacon, Albert Bennett, Ronnie Brooks, Geoff Butler, Adrian Coote, Louie Donowa, Robert Fleck, Duncan Forbes, Roger Gibbins, Daryl Godbold, Dale Gordon, John Greatrex, Bryan Gunn, Roger Hansbury, Andrew Hart, Robert Heffer, Gary Holt, Ralph Johnson, Phil Kelly, Sandy Kennon, Bunny Larkin, Russell Laskey, Andy Linighan, Chris Llewellyn, Roy Lockwood, Derrick Lythgoe, Phil Lythgoe, Mick McGuire, Ian Mellor, John Miller, Steen Nedergaard, Clive Payne, Trevor Painter, John Polston, Gary Sargent, Fred Sharpe, Peter Silvester, Brian Whitehouse, Graham Willis, Grenville Williams, Bobby Wilson.

All proceeds will go to the Historical Trust, a registered charity set-up to maintain and preserve all aspects of Norwich City's history for future generations of supporters.

Tickets will be available for cash at Jarrold Stand turnstiles on the day. For further information contact the ticket office on 0844 826 1902.
