Dickson Etuhu says Leeds were celebrating “as if they'd won the FA Cup” after the final whistle sounded at Elland Road.
The Canaries midfielder was up against a few old friends from his days at Preston - and said they all knew they'd got a sly one over a former team-mate.
“The players I know - David Healey, Eddie Lewis, Sean Gregan from when I was at Preston - they are all saying we were very unlucky today,” said Etuhu.
“We know we were the better team, they know it - they're going on like they've just won a Cup final.”
Etuhu was at the centre of a lot of the good things about Norwich City on Saturday with a performance that was light years away from some of his disappointing showings last season when he struggled to settle after his move from Preston became a permanent one at the turn of the year.
But the 24-year-old's place in the starting line-up was cemented by a good pre-season and has nailed down a role against his former club at Carrow Road tomorrow.
It's a game City must win and Etuhu insists that the ammunition is there.
“We know what we can do and we just have to keep showing it more often,” he said.
That mans the midfield three doing what they did at Leeds.
“We kept the ball well, Robbo, Saff and myself we can keep the ball so we did what we can do,” he said. “There are pluses in there, we should have won or got a draw at least but there are pluses, loads of them.”
There is also a plus for Etuhu, and those who doubted him.
“I am coming back to my best,” he said. “I have a lot to prove this season, to myself more than anyone, to my manager to the playing staff and that's what I want to do. I have started doing that since pre-season.”
