Norwich City boss Daniel Farke has made four changes to his starting line-up for tonight’s Carabao Cup fourth round tie at Premier League giants Arsenal.
James Husband, Mario Vrancic, Josh Murphy and Nelson Oliveira all come into the team after starting Sunday’s 1-0 derby win at Ipswich on the bench, with Marco Stiepermann, Yanic Wildschut, Wes Hoolahan and Cameron Jerome dropping to the bench.
Stiepermann and Wildschut both started at Portman Road but Murphy (toe) and Oliveira (groin) both stayed on the bench after recent injury issues.
Arsenal have changed their entire team from Sunday’s 5-2 win at Arsenal, with big names Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud bolstering a largely young squad with a few other experienced players, including Mathieu Debuchy, Mohamed Elneny and Francis Coquelin.
Home keeper Matt Macey is making his first-team debut, with substitutes Josh Dasilva and Jordi Osei-Tutu also hoping to make their first senior appearance for the Gunners.
The Canaries advanced to the fourth round of the competition thanks to a 3-2 win over League Two side Swindon in the first round and a 4-1 win over League One promotion hopefuls Charlton in the second, both at Carrow Road.
A trip to Championship rivals Brentford followed, with a Mario Vrancic brace and a third from Josh Murphy – taking his career League Cup tally to seven goals in 10 games – sealing a 3-1 win at Griffin Park to set up the Arsenal clash.
The Gunners came into the competition into the last round and edged past League One side Doncaster at home thanks to a Walcott goal.
The teams have met on four previous occasions in the competition, the Canaries famously knocking Arsenal out in the quarter-finals with a 3-0 win at Highbury in 1972.
Aresnal won 1-0 at Highbury in the third round in 1981 however, also knocking City out at that stage in 1993, winning a replay 3-0 at Carrow Road following a 1-1 draw.
Arsene Wenger’s team go into the game in fifth place in the Premier League and with eight wins from their last 10 games in all competitions. They were knocked out by eventual finalists Southampton in the quarter-finals last season.
Both teams have won the trophy twice, Norwich in 1962 and 1985 and Arsenal in 1987 and 1993.
