Norwich City's destiny is out of their hands after another point-less weekend.

Manager Bryan Gunn insists he is staying positive, but the euphoria following his appointment is beginning to wear off as City position becomes ever more precarious.

City are two places off the drop zone, but both teams immediately below them have THREE games in hand - and Barnsley are on the same number of points, with Watford, in the final relegation spot, just a couple behind.

Just one win for either and City would drop into the bottom three for the first time this season.

With only 13 games remaining, Gunn's orders are simple: “Go out, win games, get points and get ourselves out of the sticky situation we are in.”

It may not be that simple, with their rivals holding all the aces, but Gunn is adamant he will get it right.

“Attitude and commitment are going to be crucial in the games that are remaining,” he said. “There will be a need to work hard for each other.

“That doesn't just apply to the players, but the coaching staff as well. We are all in it together. We are all sink or swim.

“I'm not a negative thinker at all. It's a lucky 13 games we are looking for, not an unlucky 13.”

Gunn's brief was always to avoid relegation, but he insists the scale of his task hasn't become too much.

“I knew it was a massive job right from the beginning, that's the reason I took it on,” he said. “I felt I could help and my coaching staff could help.

“We just need to get the players believing - they're going to have to work hard next week. We will have to raise the spirits on the training pitch as well because the lads will be disappointed.

“We have got a long journey back to Norfolk now so the lads can have a think about where we are - we have got to do it now, we have got to realise the trouble we are in now before it's too late.

“We've got 13 games left and there are a lot of points there.”
