Veteran striker Dion Dublin was included in the starting line-up for the last game of his career for Norwich City at Sheffield Wednesday today.

Dublin was preferred to Jamie Cureton in attack, while Darel Russell was recalled in midfield in place of Kieran Gibbs, who has returned to Arsenal after his loan spell ran out.

It was a surprise on the bench with 17 year old goalkeeper Declan Rudd named in the senior 16 for the first time.

Sheffield Wednesday recalled Jermaine Johnson in place of the injured Lee Bullen.

With just over eight minutes gone, Darren Huckerby gave City the lead with a delightful finish after playing a one-two with Dublin.

With 13 minutes gone, Pattison should have made it 2-0 but was denied by a brilliant save from Grant after Dublin and Evans had set up the chance.

Five minutes later, Dublin headed just wide from a Russell cross.

Midway through the half, Burton equalised from a penalty after Shackell was adjudged to have brought him down.

Evans twice came close to restoring Norwich's lead. Seven minutes before the interval, he shot wide from a free-kick taken by Fotheringham, then three minute later, he lobbed narrowly over the bar after chasing a through ball by Otsemobor.

Wednesday hit back and Marshall saved from Slusarski to deny Wednesday the lead.

Pattison fired over the top three minutes after the break from an Evans pass, but five minutes later the home side took the lead.

Sahar was the scorer, sliding in at the far post from a left-wing cross.

Marshall made saves from Burton and Spurr as Wednesday tried to extend their lead.

With 66 minutes gone, Dublin departed to a huge ovation from the whole ground to be replaced by Cureton.
