‘That’s really helped me’ - Spurs loanee already feels he’s improved under City boss Farke

Tottenham loanee Oliver Skipp is relishing the responsibility Daniel Farke is placing on him at Norwich City and already feels like he has started to improve his game.
The midfielder is in Andorra with the England Under-21s and Canaries colleagues past and present Ben Godfrey and Max Aarons, for a European Under-21 qualifier this afternoon (2pm UK time).
Skipp has played every minute of City’s Championship campaign so far and knows that Farke has a track record in developing young players.
“He really pushes not just the young players but the whole squad,” said the 20-year-old. “I mean, he’s really detailed in the way that he wants to play, which as a footballer you can only ask for exactly what he wants and then you’ve got to go out there and produce what he wants.
“So I feel like he’s been really good for my development so far, real clear guidance on what he wants from me and even after games. It was after the Huddersfield game (a 1-0 win during the opening weekend) when there were a couple of tactical issues that I hadn’t seen that we went back over after the game.
“That’s really helped me in the next game so that I was clear in what he wants, so I think that can only help my game and all the young players at Norwich.”
The Canaries may not have taken as many points as they have felt their performances have deserved from their first four games but Skipp has made a positive start, being voted the club’s Player of the Month by fans - and Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is keeping a close eye on the midfielder.
“He’s kept in regular contact with me,” Skipp said of Mourinho. “He spoke to me just before I went, wishing me well, and a couple of times since – as are other people from the club, Steve Hitchen (technical performance director).
“So it’s really nice that they’re still keeping in touch and seeing how I’m progressing. But from a personal point of view, really nice but I would have preferred a few more points rather than Player of the Month!
“I’m happy that I’ve started off well but I want to keep pushing on, keep improving and I think there’s more from my game that hopefully will come out in the next few months.”
