Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a fresh injury blow ahead of next month’s FA Cup clash with Norwich City, with in-form forward Heung-min Son joining star striker Harry Kane in the treatment room.

Son scored the winner as the Canaries were beaten 2-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League in January, turning in an easy finish after a Christoph Zimmermann block saw the ball deflect to him fortuitously.

The South Korean icon has gone on to score five goals in his next four matches, including an injury-time winner as he scored twice in a 3-2 victory at Aston Villa on Sunday.

The 27-year-old is set for surgery this week after sustaining a fracture to his arm during that match, with a Spurs statement concluding: "Following surgery, our medical staff shall be reviewing management options for Son's rehabilitation with the player expected to be sidelined for a number of weeks."

City return to the new Tottenham stadium on Wednesday, March 4, with 9,000 fans making the trip to North London for the FA Cup fifth round tie.

England captain Harry Kane is also out injured and not expected to return from surgery on a hamstring injury until April, leaving Brazil international Lucas Moura as the front-line forward option, who has seven goals in 33 games to his name in all competitions this season.

Son has 16 in 32 while Kane had 17 in 25, with Jose Mourinho's side currently fifth and just a point adrift of the Champions League places with 12 games remaining.

Otherwise they have £27m January signing Steven Bergwijn and Argentina international Erik Lamela - but both are primarily wingers - or attacking midfielder Dele Alli as attacking options, with Irish teen Troy Parrott also given opportunities this season.

They host Red Bull Leipzig in the first leg of a Champions League last 16 tie on Wednesday, followed by a Premier League trip to Chelsea on Saturday and a home game with Wolves a few days before the visit of the Canaries.

In the same period, Norwich go to Wolves this Sunday and host Leicester on Friday, February 28, before attempting to reach the club's first FA Cup quarter-final since 1992 when they head to Spurs.
