Following their 2-0 Derby victory against Ipswich at Colney two weeks ago it was a similar score line at Milwall today as the Canaries took all three points.

With David Williams on Welsh U21 duty in Luxemburg, academy manger Ricky Martin took charge of proceedings and handed a first start for Nick Davey who has impressed of late for the U16 side.

City started the match with a 4-4-2 formation with Seb Muddel and Luke Daley causing the young Lions plenty of problems down the flanks.

The Canaries opened the scoring on 22 minutes when Davey did well to take the ball past the centre half and, under pressure from two further defenders, managed to fire in a low cross that DALEY finished from close range.

City continued to push forward looking to extend their lead and it needed good saves from the Milwall keeper to deny both Damon Lathrope and Tom Miller.

Shortly before the break after a serious of corners Alvin Quaye saw a header go just over the crossbar.

City continued in much the same vane after the break and once again Quaye went close with a header.

With 55 minutes on the clock City got their second when Daley raced away down the right to cross for MUDDEL to volley home at the far post.

Milwall might have pulled a goal back when they caught City on the counter attack but Steve Arnold was on hand to make a great double save

Late in the game City might have had a penalty when Chris Renton was brought down but the referee turned City's appeals away and then in stoppage time substitute Chris Martin saw his shot go just the wrong side of the Milwall upright.

t Nowich: Arnold, Matthews, McLean, Quaye, O'Toole, Daley, Lathrope, (Bexfield 69), Miller, Muddel (Eames 80), Renton, Davey (Martin 85)

t Norwich City man of the match: Tom Miller.
