Wales manager John Toshack is delighted Norwich City striker Robert Earnshaw looks to be back in the groove.

Earnshaw and City team-mate Carl Robinson have been named in Toshack's squad for friendlies against the Basque Country on May 20 in Bilbao and Trinidad and Tobago in Graz, Austria on May 27.

Earnshaw is a key member of his evolving squad and Toshack wants him content and firing on all cylinders.

He said he was happy that Earnshaw, sold West Bromwich Albion to Norwich in the transfer window, is getting his act together.

“Earnshaw has had a difficult time, even when he went to Norwich he struggled early on. Now he has started to score goals,' he said.

“He got a super goal to win the match at Cardiff and we all know he has that quality.

“But hopefully he is now more settled in his own mind and he needs that.

“We hopefully will benefit now.

“He's 25, he is in a group that needs to show their qualities now at this level.”

Toshack is also keen for West Bromwich Albion midfielder Jason Koumas to sort out his future.

“Koumas, Earnshaw, they have the best few years ahead of them and they should be involved and making an impact,” said Toshack.

“But they should be aware there are younger players behind them. They must start to take on responsibility.”

Midfielder Koumas has just completed his loan at Cardiff - who want him full time - and has been offered an olive branch by Bryan Robson at West Bromwich after falling out last year. There is also the prospect of Everton interest for the former Liverpool youngster.
