Ever wanted to see what it’s like to sign for Norwich City?

The Canaries' January signing Sam McCallum allowed the Sky Sports cameras to follow his move to Norfolk, as the final stages of his switch from Coventry City were completed.

The left-back signed in a deal reportedly worth up to £3.5million before returning to his League One club on loan for the remainder of the season.

The cameras captured the 19-year-old arriving at Colney for the first time, meeting Stuart Webber, heading to the N&N for a medical and savouring the moment with his family and representatives, before signing on the dotted line, on a contract until 2024.

McCallum was part of Jamie Vardy's V9 Academy while playing for non-league club Herne Bay in Kent, before joining Coventry in August 2018, impressing for the Sky Blues.

His agent, Olly Henry of Key Sports, explains: "He's very grounded, very clever, very hard working, a great kid.

"There's a lot of clubs that have shown an interest in him for what he's been doing on the pitch, Norwich came to us and for us it's not just about the club being in the Premier League, it's not just about that it's a great move for him.

"They showed him what they want to do with him, not just now but six months, 12 months, 18 months, two years, they had a real plan for him, which is important to us.

"It's not just about getting him there, it's about getting him there in the right environment, so when this came around it was a really good fit."

McCallum also meets City's loans manager Neil Adams at Colney as the details of his return to Coventry for the remainder of the season are confirmed.

"We get players who either go straight in, like Max Aarons and Jamal Lewis, who were good enough to go straight in, or they go via a loan at another club to hopefully come back in," the Canaries legend and former manager explains.

"Yours is a bit different obviously because we've signed you and kept you there. We'll maintain regular communication now, we will from club to club, so they'll be nothing that you do now that we won't know about.

"So come the end of the season, hopefully it's easy for me to go and knock on Daniel (Farke's) door."

Board members Delia Smith, Michael Wynn Jones, Michael Foulger and Tom Smith also make an appearance at Colney, with Delia saying: "Welcome to Norwich City, we're so thrilled to have you."

Delia also posed for photos and signed one of her cookery books for McCallum's parents, John and Sarah, explaining to the Sky cameras: "We're very keen on the youth here, it's a very important part of what we're doing. We've got a good track record now, we've got five youth players in the first-team squad and that's how we're doing it."

SCOUT REPORT: McCallum looks a shrewd addition for Canaries

McCallum is also shown returning to old club Herne Bay and catching up with Leicester star Vardy, due to his association with the V9 Academy.

"At the end of the day, this is the stories that it was set up for, I played non-league, same as Sam has, Vardy explains. "Sam has as well and I'm sure Sam will tell you, you play against kids and you can tell straight away that they're are good enough.

"But it's just people having the guts to take a chance."

Since returning to Coventry the youngster has played every minute of four successive wins, claiming an assist during a 2-0 win at struggling Southend on Saturday to move up to second in the League One table, level on points with leaders Rotherham and with a game in hand.
