The 23-year-old admits he is a left back that likes to get forward after signing from Middlesbrough in a £1m deal.

Hsuband found first team opportunities hard to come by last season at the Riverside as a shoulder injury restricted his involvement before George Friend’s form kept him on the sidelines.

But he admits that he can’t wait to get started with City where he will challenge Harry Toffolo for a first team spot.

“I’d say I’m an attacking full-back,” he says. “I like a tackle too – the first job is to defend and the second job is to go forward. Full-backs have to get forward a bit more these days, but I enjoy both sides of it.”

Norwich are in friendly action on Tuesday evening against Stevenage but it is not known at this stage whether he will be involved.

Husband admits he is desperate for first team action after spending last season on the sidelines on Teeside.

“It didn’t start off well last season – I got injured at the start of the year and was basically playing catch-up for the rest of the year,” he added. “It didn’t go to plan for me and I didn’t play as much football as I wanted. So first and foremost I’ve come here to play football and to enjoy my time as much as possible. The main thing is to try and get Norwich up the league as far as we can go.

“They’ve been in the Premier League recently, and obviously there are some big players here who have played in the Premiership and hopefully they can teach me things I don’t know already.”

Husband admits he has been impressed with head coach Daniel Farke’s vision for the club.

“I’ve spoken to him and he’s explained his ideas and how he wants his team to play, and I think it suits me to a tee really, especially how he wants his full-backs to play,” he told the club’s official website. “It’s obviously new for everyone here and for me, and I think everyone at the club will be looking forward to it. I’ll work as hard as I can to try and impress everyone.”
