Another frosty morning greeted players but while a few Norwich Sunday League games were casualties of the conditions, common sense in delaying kick-off times and plain good luck played their part in getting many played.

Morning leaders Schoolhouse were on the end of probably the most surprising result of the day as they went down 4-1 (Dan Childerhouse, Joe Easton, Ali Shearer 2) at home to Sprowston Wanderers. That allowed Riverside Rovers to take over top spot in the Premier Division after a Jordan Rocastle goal was enough against Acle Rangers. Horsford warmed up for their County Cup semi-final with a 3-0 (James Taylor 2, Callum Cooper) win over Bungay Town, whilst goals from Shaun Taylor (2) and Stevie Blake helped Farmhouse to a 3-1 win at Poringland Wanderers.

In Division One, Hewett OBs bounced back from the previous week’s disappointment with a 1-0 victory at Hellesdon thanks to a Jordan Crane goal. Sam and Owen Page were on target as Brooke returned to winning ways with a two-goal victory at The Middle Green and both Dean Mortimer and Danny Rogers were on target as Aslacton won 2-1 at Norman Wanderers.

The eagerly-anticipated clash of the morning’s top two in Division Two was a victim of the frost and that being the case, it allowed Mischief FC to jump into second spot as they won 4-1 (Tom Miller 2, Matt Cates, Oliver Johnson) at Hethersett Ath. Andy Adams and Matt Walsh scored as Vale Longo beat Sprowston Athletic Wildcats 2-0 whilst the game between Barracks and Mad Moose failed to produce a goal.

Only two games took place in Division Three, with wins for MC Rovers, 5-2 at home to Dynamo, and Norman Wanderers A, 3-0 (Tyrone Sparrow 2, Reece May) against Newsman Celtic.

In Division Four, Hethersett Ath Res moved into second after winning 5-1 (Stephen Wright 3, Ben Wright, Scott Grimes) at Cellar House and remain the only side that can catch leaders AFC Norwich. Nelson Ath won 4-2 (Nathan Dewhurst 2 , John Corcoran, Sam Meakins) at Sporting Iceni.

Division Five leaders Easton went to third-placed Aylsham and it was the home side who came out on top, 5-1. Tobias Oliver grabbed a hat-trick for the home side.
