Don't believe the transfer hype

Well one point at Elland Road was not quite the three I'd boldly (some would say stupidly!) predicted, but it was another case of so near and yet so far.

Well one point at Elland Road was not quite the three I'd boldly (some would say stupidly!) predicted, but it was another case of so near and yet so far.

With my totally rational hat on I suppose I will admit that the spectre of Selhurst Park loomed large and therefore a single mouthful of Yorkshire pudding was most welcome when we could so easily have all been left hungry.

With the transfer window firmly shut against the still cold winds of winter it seems that we are not immune to all the transfer gossip currently doing the rounds.

If you plough your way through all the 'Lampard to Barcelona' , 'Ballack to Chelsea' and 'Curbishley/Pearce/Allardyce et al to FA HQ' stories somewhere in there this week have been 'Lewington to Norwich' and 'Norris winging his way to Canaries' reports.

In case you didn't know, MK Dons defender Dean Lewington has earned widespread praise for his displays this season though his team is currently bottom of League One having let in a mere 51 goals this season so far!

David Norris has equally earned praise racing down Plymouth's right wing since promotion to the Championship, and the Pilgrims currently lie just three points behind City in the table. Expect both gentlemen to be spotted buying hand-made pizzas in the Norwich Asda anytime now. Shortly after being seen at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital exiting the 'Advanced Medical ExaminationFor Footballers About To Sign On The Dotted Line Room'.

In other words, don't hold your breath. They are just as likely to sign as it is to be a glorious Atacama Desert-like summer without rain, City fans basking in the glow of another Premiership season on the horizon. Oh well, we can but dream!
