This is not just the end of the season. In fact it is a beginning and a time of change.
Peter Grant has been true to his word. Young fringe players have either been given the opportunity to go on loan and experience first team football elsewhere or, with the glut of injuries, the chance to express themselves in the green and yellow of a first team shirt.
Those Canary fans who watch reserve team football will remember the first match Peter Grant attended at Carrow Road after becoming manager was a reserve game.
Young Chris Martin and Robert Eagle impressed that night and neither has let down the manager when he showed belief in them and promoted them to the first team.
Now Michael Spillane, Kris Renton and Bally Smart have also been a credit to the club's youth policy when playing recently in depleted first team squads. With our injury list there are sure to be further opportunities for young talent to prosper.
Over the years NCISA has consistently supported the youth work undertaken by Norwich City Football Club with fund raising and sponsorship. Our members know that the future of the club is in the hands of those who develop our young players.
Peter Grant has added a powerful additional incentive for young players at the club. The message is clear.
They can see that honest hard work to develop their talents can bring the chance of first team football at Carrow Road with the prospect of a future career as a professional footballer.
NCISA will have a presence in the Business Lounge (Jarrolds Stand) on Sunday, April 29 at the Norwich City Open day.
Come along and chat with some of the committee members and give yourself a chance to demonstrate your football knowledge and win a new Norwich City football shirt.
