Jack Stacey insists Norwich City will not abandon their approach after a difficult start to the Championship season, with the defender confident improved results will follow.
The Canaries have won one of their first four league matches and lost the other three, although there is a belief within the squad that they deserved more from defeats by West Brom and Stoke.
It is a run that has inevitably prompted comparisons with last season’s damaging start, when Liam Manning’s side took only nine points from their first 15 matches before his eventual dismissal.
But Stacey believes City are in a stronger position this time, with a clear playing identity and greater competition for places.
"I think it is in terms of the way we set up. We can see that we have a very clear style of play and everybody's on that same wavelength," Stacey said.
"I think we have a lot more depth in our squad and a lot of players that are ready to come in and play at all times, which should be a big advantage for us in this period now.
"I don't think it's a case of anybody panicking in the changing room or, you know, comparing it to potentially times we've had in the past. We feel like, of course, we want to get the results, but we're not going to overhaul everything and change the way we play, because we don't feel that's needed.
"The fact that we have so many games coming up allows us to go out there that way and try to rectify that. We feel that if we maintain a consistent level of performance, the results will improve."
Norwich travel to Sheffield United on Saturday before a demanding spell of five matches in 16 days, giving them little time to dwell on their early setbacks.
Stacey believes that can work in their favour, with the Championship’s relentless schedule offering an immediate opportunity to build momentum.
"I think what makes it easier is the congested period. We know that we've got another game on Saturday, we've got another game on Wednesday, and then we want to go into those games and try as soon as possible to start winning games.
"So you can see the power of momentum in the Championship. We learnt that last year. And if you can start to go on a run, then you can really go far," the right back said.
"We want to try and turn that momentum around and then any time we can build it, we'll go on that run again."
