Jose Cordoba is hungry for more after his first proper introduction to life at Norwich City in their Carabao Cup defeat to Crystal Palace.
City's summer addition has had a slower start to life at Carrow Road than expected owing to his involvement in the Copa America with Panama and a slight quad injury that ruled him out of the opening two competitive matches.
Cordoba is now playing catch-up with his personal fitness but feels well-placed to make an impact in the Championship after his first outing at Selhurst Park on Tuesday night alongside club captain Grant Hanley in the heart of defence.
"I feel happy to have these minutes with the team. I was so excited to play my first game at the beginning, and I'm enjoying this moment," Cordoba said after City's defeat to Crystal Palace.
"For me, I am used to playing at a high level, so for me, it was the same [as other experiences]. I felt very comfortable, so it was no problem. I will prepare myself 100pc to take my position in a league game and I will fight for that.
"I had a quad muscle injury, but I feel really great now. I know I must improve myself more, but right now, I really feel good."
City were comprehensively beaten 4-0 to end their Carabao Cup journey for this season despite being competitive for large periods of the contest.
Both Gabriel Forsyth and Oscar Schwartau squandered big opportunities at key moments, but the Premier League side were ruthless with their efforts to secure their spot in the next round of the competition.
Despite the heavy scoreline, Cordoba believes Norwich can take plenty of positives from their performance into Saturday's Championship trip to Coventry.
"They scored so fast, and we were surprised by the first goal, but then the team made a good reaction, taking the ball with personality," he said.
"We know that they have very good players, but we tried. That's good, and we will keep improving. The feeling is positive. We could have done better and finished the game with a different face, but they are a Premier League team and took their chances.
"It was a tough game. We are disappointed with the result but we know the level that they have."
