Angus Gunn has credited Johannes Hoff Thorup's brave half-time double substitution as the catalyst for Norwich City's first Championship win of the season over Coventry.
Borja Sainz's second-half goal came during a much-improved display after the break, as City enjoyed more control of the contest after Anis Ben Slimane and Oscar Schwartau had entered proceedings.
After replacing Ante Crnac and Amankwah Forson, City possessed a better balance and retained control of the ball, allowing them to put Coventry under pressure whilst limiting their chances at the other end.
Gunn praised the City boss' decision as the key moment that turned the game in the Canaries' favour.
"No disrespect to the lads who came off, but the two guys who came on changed the game massively," Gunn said.
"Everyone said that in the changing room, and the lads who came off were delighted with that as well because it meant that we were on top of the game and eventually won it. It's a credit to them for coming on and making the impact they did.
"It's a credit to the manager for making that decision so early."
City's first league win under the Dane arrived after weeks of improving performances following a dismal opening day defeat to Oxford United earlier this month.
The victory over Coventry felt like another building block being put in place as Thorup continues to implement his methods as City. Gunn feels it is a moment that has been inevitable after recent displays.
"I think it was a very good performance. In the last few weeks, it feels like it has been coming. In the last two home games, we got draws but were on top in those matches.
"We dominated the majority of the game; even when they had possession, we looked pretty settled. It was nearly as complete a performance as you can get.
"We probably should have put it to bed, but we held on until the end. First win of the season, and we're delighted. You could see how much it meant to us at the end.
"You could see it with our reaction at the end. Coming away from home to get a clean sheet and three points is massive. We've done a lot of defensive work in training to be more solid, and we've done that today."
