Norwich City women's defender Ceri Flye is delighted with the Canaries' positive start to the season, but won't get ahead of herself in the quest for promotion.
Andy Cook's side have won their first three league fixtures of the campaign, bouncing back from derby day cup defeat to beat London Seaward 5-0 on Sunday.
That run has them top of the National League Division One South-East already, putting them in pole position for the only spot rewarded with promotion.
Flye is only focused on the short term, however, and is taking things one game at a time.
"It's been brilliant," she said. "I think three games, three wins is definitely the start we were hoping for.
"We've been working hard in training in the off-season and the pre-season, so I think the performances are showing what our hard work is doing really.
"It's always nice to be up there to start with, but it's a very, very long season and we've played three games. We're just going to take one game at a time, try and get three points every game, and we'll go from there.
"The league's going to be very competitive this year, there are a lot of good teams in there. Last year we were unlucky to finish second, but then when you look back on it there are so many positives from last year.
"We're in the best shape possible as a team to just go that little bit further, but we're just going to take every game as it comes."
Flye has been pleased with the club's progress off the pitch, with professional facilities increasingly available to the women's team.
The 21-year-old knows it's important to combine those off-pitch gains with on-pitch ones, however, and wants to mark that progress by reaching the third tier.
"I've been here for three years now and every year we're getting more and more opportunities," she continued. "I feel so lucky really.
"You've got to look at progression, and we have been showing progression. Hopefully we can take it that little bit further this year and get promotion."
