Norwich City goalkeeper Angus Gunn played the full 90 minutes for Scotland as they lost 3-1 to England at Hampden Park.

His club-mate Kenny McLean was an unused substitute for Steve Clarke's side in the friendly to mark 150 years since the foundation of the Scottish Football Association.

The game was Gunn's second of the international break, after starting the Tartan Army's 3-0 win over Cyprus last Friday, when McLean replaced former City team-mate Billy Gilmour after 67 minutes.

Manchester City attacker Phil Foden opened the scoring for the Three Lions, deflecting Kyle Walker's shot beyond Gunn in the 32nd minute. Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham then doubled the lead from close range after Andy Robertson's mistake.

Harry Maguire's own goal gave the Scottish hope, but they couldn't find the equaliser their supporters craved before Harry Kane sealed the win from close range.

Gunn ended the game impressively, however, pulling off a fine save to deny Eberechi Eze when he went through one-on-one.

The defeat is Scotland's first in over a year, and Gunn's first as a full international. He and McLean will now return to the Canaries' Colney training base ahead of Saturday's meeting with Stoke City at Carrow Road.

Deadline-day signing Hwang Ui-Jo also featured for his nation, playing 38 minutes as a substitute for South Korea. They beat Saudi Arabia 1-0 at St. James' Park thanks to Cho Gue-Sung's strike, with Hwang replacing namesake and Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Hwang Hee-Chan.

Hwang has spent his first 10 days as a Norwich player on international duty, but has remained in the UK, with Korea facing Wales in Cardiff before making the trip to the North East.

Tony Springett started at left wing for the Republic of Ireland's under-21s as they beat San Marino 3-0 in Euros qualifying. Springett played 69 minutes for the Boys in Green, having made his international under-21 debut just four days earlier against Turkey.
