Ex-Norwich City midfielder Tom Trybull is braced for a new experience after agreeing to join Danish top-flight side Odense Boldklub.

The German midfielder recently saw his contract with League One side Blackpool terminated by mutual consent, and he has opted for another adventure abroad by joining the Superliga side on a short-term basis.

It is Trybull's fourth club since he terminated his contract at Carrow Road in 2021 after a season-long loan spell with Blackburn Rovers. He has since represented Sandhausen, Hannover and Blackpool.

Trybull's career has seen him play football in England, Germany and the Netherlands as he prepares to tick off Denmark in the latest stage of a well-travelled career.

The 30-year-old was a key cog in the City side that won the Championship in 2018/19 under Daniel Farke. Trybull made 80 appearances during his spell at Carrow Road, 16 of which came in the Premier League.

He was given a warm reception on the final day of the Championship season when he was an unused substitute in Blackpool's 1-0 victory over Norwich at Carrow Road in a game that was overshadowed by Teemu Pukki's farewell.

Trybull departed Blackpool on Deadline Day having not made a single appearance since relegation, and is now set for a fresh challenge in Denmark.

He is excited at the prospect of joining OB and experiencing Danish football for the first time in his career.

"It is a good club with a lot of traditions and where the internal competition is good," Trybull told OB's official channels.

"I like the style of play, and I'm looking forward to meeting the fans, who I've heard a lot about."

OB currently sit 10th in the Superliga, having won only two of their nine games of the season. Trybull is in line to make his debut against Lyngby in a game on Monday evening.

Sporting director Björn Wesström believes it was a no-brainer to swoop for Trybull when the opportunity arose and believes he adds quality to their squad.

"Sometimes opportunities arise that match the short-term needs that we as a team face," Wesström said.

"With Tom, we get a hard-working duel player who will increase the competition in the midfield this season."
