Norwich City's executive committee answered questions from shareholders on a variety topics at the club's 2023 annual general meeting.

It took around an hour to get to the key matter of David Wagner's future with the Canaries, with the likes of investment, fan engagement, finances and memberships also discussed.

New sporting director Ben Knapper asked for more time to make a decision on the City head coach, reminding supporters in the room that he'd only arrived at Colney 18 days ago.

Knapper also discussed the club's transfer strategy going forward, admitting that the squad's age profile was higher than it should be and telling fans to expect that to be addressed in future.

Technical director Neil Adams added to that point later in the evening, stating that the January transfer window was an opportunity to improve a squad he knew was struggling. Knapper's view was that a cycle was coming to an end at Carrow Road, and that the winter window was a chance to address that rather than solely the short term.

There were some more tense moments including a quote falsely attributed to Delia Smith and responded to as such, while the joint majority shareholder highlighted the impact of fan negativity on player performance.

Mark Attanasio revealed that he'd be open to further third-party financing if it helped the club on the pitch, as well as fielding questions on the differences between English and American sport and how his involvement benefited him.

Adams then revealed his disappointment at Andrew Omobamidele's progression and cited that as the reason for selling him on transfer deadline day. At the same time he justified Max Aarons' departure by pointing to the time left on his contract.

Smith also claimed that the impact of the club's injury 'crisis' has been understated by fans and the media, requesting more sympathy for Wagner on that front.

After just over 90 minutes of official business, pre-submitted questions and queries from the floor, the AGM was wrapped up and the board's most important public appearance concluded for another year.
