Jon Rowe's magic is making him a match-winner at Norwich City this season, Shane Duffy has said.

The young winger has netted 11 goals in the Championship since his first senior start against Hull on the opening day of the campaign.

Rowe has joined an exclusive club of under-21-year-olds to net double figures in a single season post war at City, joining Justin Fashanu, Craig Bellamy and Chris Sutton.

City's academy graduate has produced some of the best moments this season - including an East Anglian derby brace and now another fine individual goal to give Norwich the lead at the MKM Stadium.

His performances have won him plaudits and admiring glances from Premier League clubs, with Rowe and his representatives having turned down two offers made by City for a new deal.

Both parties have now agreed to park the situation until the summer - but the winger's trajectory is undeniably upward. City will be hoping to benefit from his brilliance for as long as possible.

Duffy, an experienced member of Norwich's squad, recalls a conversation he held with the England U21 international earlier this season amid a dip in his form and believes he is back to his best after his performance levels dropped.

"It was out our only attack of the first half. That is what Jonny has got. I said to him earlier in the season when he was riding high, 'there'll be a dip'.

'It happens to every player - be ready for it and come through it'," Duffy said after City's win at Hull.

"To stay at the level he was at at the start of the season is probably rare, but he's a good lad and keeps working hard. He knows himself that he needs to push himself.

"Give him a ball like that in that position, and he will do the rest - he's shown that since the start of the season when he picked up the ball on the halfway line and found the top corner.

"Jonny has got that bit of magic for us. He can win us games, and that's what you need at this level to be successful."
