Vindicated Borja Sainz is back on track at Norwich City after a fine display in their 5-0 victory over Rotherham United, according to team mate Jacob Sorensen.

The Danish international, who sang the praises of the Spanish winger after his stunning strike, reinforced his importance to the City cause as the FA overturned a four-game ban after his clash with Middlesbrough's Jonny Howson in midweek.

Sainz had to endure criticism and harsh words, even from within his own dressing room, but answered back in the best way possible as he shone to help Norwich move into the top six for the first time since September.

Consistency is now the aim of the game as he attempts to make the difference in their play off pursuit in the remaining nine Championship matches.

"It's been a weird week for Borja, and obviously, people were a bit angry at him after we lost the game, but now he is back on track with a beautiful goal," Sorensen said.

"Being in a professional environment, it's competitive, and everyone wants to win, so I think it's natural to be disappointed in him when it happened, but looking back at it now, he's not guilty. People gave him a hug and laughed it out.

"He's got a good right foot. Hopefully, he can keep them coming in the next few weeks."

Sorensen is relishing the opportunity ahead of City in the final nine games as they seek to set up a promotion shootout.

The victory against Rotherham serves as a statement of intent, but the focus is on the job at hand for those City players.

"It's exciting and it's a really tight Championship, even at the bottom. We will take one game as it comes and see after the last game how many points we have," Sorensen reflected post-match.

"I don't think (being in the top six) makes a difference now. There will be twists and turns in the rest of the games. What matters is where we are in the end.

"Rotherham is struggling, and everybody could sense that. We have to win these games, and we did that comfortably.

"We started well and killed the game in the first half, then saw it out in the second. We spoke before the game about not giving them a sniff and we didn't. Overall, it's a great win."
