Norwich City head coach David Wagner will miss this afternoon's pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's trip to Stoke due to a private personal matter.

Wagner's assistant Christoph Buhler will step in and address the media at 2.45pm - with the expectation at this stage that the City boss will be present for tomorrow's Championship clash in Staffordshire.

The City boss is in good health and is absent for family matters, meaning he has had to return to Germany temporarily.

Buhler joined City alongside Wagner in January 2023 and has worked with Wagner throughout his managerial career at Borussia Dortmund II, Huddersfield, Schalke, and Young Boys.

The 46-year-old will lead final preparations along with coaches Andrew Hughes, Narcis Perlach, and goalkeeping lead Paul Clements.

Norwich travel to Stoke on Saturday, hoping to end their frustration on the road this season, having won on just four occasions away from Carrow Road this season.

They currently sit 6th in the Championship table and have an opportunity to extend their gap to Hull to three points with victory, with Liam Rosenior's side not in action due to Coventry's FA Cup progress.
