Norwich City Women 7 Mulbarton Wanderers 0
Norwich City booked their place in the final of the Norfolk Women’s County Cup for the second successive season with an emphatic victory over Mulbarton Wanderers at The Nest.
Scott Emmerson’s decision to make only three changes to his line-up that had started City’s recent draw with Worthing proved how serious he was about ensuring City would progress, and Natasha Snelling’s early brace set them on their way. For her first goal, City’s striker needed only two touches to control the ball and fire it home, while the second was a smart lofted finish.
Captain Anna Larkins extended the Canaries’ advantage in the 28th minute when her in-swinging corner caught visiting goalkeeper Jody Todd unawares, before Katie Knights drove home a fourth
City made their substitutions early in the second half and benefitted from doing so, with Freya Symonds tucking home Rachel Lawrence’s cross less than 10 minutes after entering the fray.
Further goals were added by Lauren Hailes and striker Shannon Shaw to cap off a polished display from City, who will face Wroxham in the final.
Norwich City: Quantrill, Larkins (c), Strauss, Pernet, Parker, Morran, Knights, Tomlinson, Lawrence, Hailes, Snelling. Subs: Russell, Symonds, Shaw, Cook, Limage.
