Sarah Quantrill has starred in an FA Cup semi-final and been an English champion on multiple occasions, but nowhere beats Carrow Road for the Norwich City goalkeeper.

Quantrill is set to play at the stadium for the second time this weekend as the Canaries welcome Queens Park Rangers to their main base, once again fulfilling a long-held dream having grown up a City fan.

The 33-year-old signed for the club last summer from bitter rivals Ipswich Town, crossing the divide and impressing between the sticks this season.

That's no surprise after the career Quantrill's had, with her time as a Tractor Girl preceded by spells with Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal, the latter earning her plenty of silverware early in her career.

The highlight of her career came against the Gunners, however, helping Chelsea to a 2-0 win at Griffin Park. That was her favourite ground to play at in her early years, but nothing compares to her childhood club's base.

"When I was at Chelsea I was number two goalkeeper, and we had Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-final," she recalled. "That was at Brentford's old stadium, so that was probably the biggest crowd I'd played in front of up to this point.

"That was an amazing experience, going there as the underdogs and to come out winners was pretty special.

"But Carrow Road's better, isn't it? It's a proper big stadium, my home team, the team I support and played for as a kid, so it'll be good."

Quantrill knows what a privilege it is to be on the hallowed turf of NR1, and will ensure she makes the most of the experience.

"It's pretty amazing," she continued. "Growing up you dream of playing in a big stadium, you see it on TV and wish you could be there. For it to actually happen is pretty special.

"I think you can get caught up in the occasion and not realise how special it actually is, but people dream of playing there. To be able to do that is amazing."
