Here is Samuel Seaman's verdict on Norwich City, who came from behind to grind out a crucial 2-1 defeat of Plymouth Argyle.
Angus Gunn
The City goalkeeper at his finest at several crucial moments, as David Wagner remarked post-match. Forced Ryan Hardie out wide even as he was rounded, denying the same man when he appeared certain to equalise late on.
Distributed reliably and was a presence in his box, rushing out to clear when Ben Gibson's pass to him was short. Must have heard that player of the season voting had opened. 9
Jack Stacey
Given plenty of work down the right flank as Gabriel Sara regularly tucked in in front of him, but did the job well and provided a threat.
Mainly thrived in the first half offensively, but was a physical and intelligent presence when the hosts needed to guard against Plymouth's dangerous counters. 7
Jacob Sorensen
Struggled early on when a lack of midfield protection exposed the defence, but grew into the game and made a string of vital blocks and tackles as Plymouth looked for an equaliser late on.
Faces stern competition from the recently returned Shane Duffy, who's earned plenty of trust from Wagner and has a lot of experience in promotion run-ins, but has been solid since filling in at the back. 7
Ben Gibson
Struggled with consistent balls in behind and the pace of Morgan Whittaker cutting in from his left, but grew into the game like Sorensen and was able to impose himself more as City dropped to defend their lead.
Excellent progression of the ball at times, finding one diagonal for Josh Sargent that was inch-perfect. 6
Sam McCallum
A consistent offensive threat, combining well with the midfield and Borja Sainz to find good crossing positions and fairly good deliveries. Caught out defensively for the Argyle goal, however, and given a torrid first half in his own half by Whittaker.
Improved in the second half and contributed some typically promising drives forward as well as flicking Sara's corner on for Ashley Phillips to divert beyond his own goalkeeper. 7
Kenny McLean
Typically hard-working and athletic, bursting through the Plymouth midfield multiple times and progressing the ball to the edge of the box. Struggled for ideas once he got there, but was less sloppy in possession as the game wore on.
Blazed one shot over the bar after dribbling into a good position 15 yards out. 6
Marcelino Nunez
An off day for the Chilean after Wagner had praised his reliability pre-match. Full of energy and moved the ball quickly and effectively early on, but tried too hard to force the issue with Norwich behind and gave it away too often.
One long pass went out for a throw-in and summed up his performance aside from the first 15 minutes. Understandable after his international exploits. 5
Gabriel Sara
Not the same level of fluidity present in his previous outings as an inverted right-winger, but still looked most likely, aside perhaps from Sainz, to unlock the defence when it was desperately needed.
Almost scored a Puskas Award contender with a 35-yard free-kick, crashing the underside of the bar before Christian Fassnacht nodded inexplicably over. Was more involved after the Swiss was introduced and he dropped into a deeper position. 6
Ashley Barnes
Similar movement patterns to previously, but without receiving as much of the ball. Looked fairly isolated in his 'number 10' position, but was technically proficient and creative when he got the ball.
One first-half occasion where he chested down and almost slipped Sargent through was impressive. 6
Borja Sainz
Catastrophic defending for the goal, slowly jogging toward Matthew Sorinola as he crossed before dangling a limp foot in the ball's rough direction. Recovered quickly, however, and looked most likely to make the difference.
Burst into the Plymouth box before chipping behind Sargent, as well as leaving Phillips on the floor and working room for a shot that eventually looped comfortably to Michael Cooper in the away goal. Couldn't bend his customary goal home when the ball fell to him on the left corner of the box. 7
Josh Sargent
Looked a complete write-off for the American, but he ultimately came up with the goods as should always be expected. A fine sweeping finish for the equaliser.
Missed several chances to score beforehand and didn't look match-sharp, but few will remember any of that after another crucial win in the push for play-off qualification. 6
SUBSTITUTES
Christian Fassnacht (on for Nunez, 57)
Delivered either an extremely well-placed and intelligent corner or a poor one that Sargent did well to convert, but worth giving him the benefit of the doubt as he continues to make a habit of vital goal contributions as a substitute.
A shocking miss when Sara's free-kick bounced into his path, without which some of the nerves in the stadium could certainly have been avoided. 7
Shane Duffy (on for Sainz, 87)
Announced his comeback with a colossal header clear as Plymouth piled the pressure on and chucked a cross into the box. 6
Liam Gibbs (on for McCallum, 90+2)
Did some valuable wasting of a few seconds in another hold-on shift. 5
