Don Goodman believes Norwich City will need to bring their A-game and win the first leg to stand any chance of beating Leeds United in the play-offs.

The Canaries host Leeds at Carrow Road on Sunday in the first leg before travelling to Elland Road next Thursday, hoping to earn a spot in the play-off final and a shot at promotion to the Premier League.

Norwich finished 17 points behind Leeds during the regular Championship campaign and David Wagner has cast his team as underdogs in an attempt to pile the pressure onto the Whites.

Sky Sports lead EFL pundit Goodman, a Leeds fan, believes Daniel Farke's side are vulnerable after a poor run of form saw them fall below Ipswich Town and Leicester City to miss out on an automatic promotion spot.

Despite Leeds's end-of-season form, Goodman still thinks Norwich will need to find their best level to edge past Farke's men.

“Leeds need to reset and go again," Goodman told OLBG. "I've never known four teams going into the play-offs being so out of form. I think that is what makes this year's play-offs so impossible to predict.

“There is no doubt whatsoever that Leeds have a better squad on paper than Norwich City. However, they are also vulnerable. If Norwich bring their A-game, both Leeds will have a difficult game on their hands.

“For Norwich to cause an upset, they have to win their home leg. Anything other than a win means they will struggle. I think they are must-win games.

“Leeds had an incredible record at Elland Road before losing their final two games and only five teams gained fewer points away from home than Norwich.

“Often, the phrase ‘the play-offs are a lottery’ pops up but in recent seasons, that hasn’t been strictly true because a team with a strong run of form going in usually wins in the Championship! This is different though, on this occasion, It really is a lottery!“
