Norwich City's Brad Hills, Kellen Fisher and Abu Kamara have all been called up to the England Men's Elite Squad for friendlies against Sweden and the Republic of Ireland next month.

The squad, formerly known as England's under-20s, travel to Croatia for the two games, first facing the Swedes at Stadion ŠRC Sesvete (Friday, 7 June, 3pm BST) and then Ireland at the Gradski Stadion, Vrbovec (Tuesday, 11 June 3pm BST).

None of the trio have received Young Lions call-ups before, although they follow in the footsteps of team-mate Jonathan Rowe, who was in the same squad in autumn last year before graduating to the under-21s.

Fisher had an impressive first campaign at Carrow Road after jumping three divisions from National League Bromley aged just 19 last summer. He made 14 first-team appearances during the season, registering two assists in the process.

He struggled for game time in the second half of the campaign as fellow right-back Jack Stacey impressed, but is in a good position going forward under youth-focused sporting director Ben Knapper.

Hills will also hope to benefit from Knapper's mission to lower the age profile of City's squad, with his name under consideration for a first-team place next season after impressing on loan at Accrington Stanley.

The centre-back was named Stanley's player of the season by fans, and played almost every minute he was available for in a mixed League Two term for the Lancashire club.

Kamara is already well-known to Norwich fans having made his senior debut in last April's Championship loss to Sheffield United, but boosted his reputation further with a key role in Portsmouth promotion to the second tier.

He scored eight goals and claimed 10 assists on the way to a League One title winner's medal, and is expected to be part of the Canaries' plans for the 2024-25 season.

Former Norwich academy man Alex Matos also features in the squad, having left for Chelsea last summer before joining Huddersfield Town on loan in January.
