Norwich City have confirmed their official squad to the EFL following the conclusion of the summer transfer window.
The Canaries have submitted a 23-man squad, leaving two spaces free in their selection. That list does not include permanent players at the club under the age of 21 (any player born on or after January 1 2004), who don't require registration.
Within that squad, eight players need to be 'homegrown'. This means any player who has played at any club affiliated with the FA or the FA of Wales for at least three seasons or 36 months prior to their 21st birthday (or the end of the season they turn 21).
Norwich currently have 12 within their squad, with loanees Callum Doyle and Kaide Gordon included despite their age. Clubs are permitted to name at least seven homegrown players in their matchday squad for any one game.
Clubs are also required to include a 'club-developed player' within a matchday squad or are forced to name one fewer player on their bench.
The EFL's definition of a club-developed player is any player who was at the club for 'at least 12 months prior to the end of his Under 19 season'; basically, anyone who was signed to the club for at least a year as a teenager (even if they were out on loan).
New additions such as Ante Crnac, Ben Chrisene and Oscar Schwartau aren't named in the main squad alongside Kellen Fisher, Gabe Forsyth or Brad Hills owing to their respective ages.
