The news that Norwich midfielder Marcelino Nunez is moving to bitter rivals Ipswich sent the yellow and green side of social media into a massive spin. We had a look to see what fans were saying…

I think this is such an over-reaction from our fans. We sold Sainz for how much? No one cared. Second top scorer in the league. Injury prone Nunez, who hardly plays and doesn't score many, and all hell breaks loose - @GarySPRUCE3

Some serious questions need asking of Knapper and Manning re the lack of creativity and pace in this squad - @FlaxmanDar96450

£10m for an injury prone player who doesn’t want to be here and will leave on a free in 10 months is a pretty excellent dream - @PhillipsVolley

I think it’s a good piece of business everything taken into account. Not bothered that it’s Ipswich - @colin_hunn

I’m shocked by this. But I don’t think there is any way back for him at Norwich now. But to sell him to that lot is a disgrace - @mncweston

Replacing a player who knows the league with another foreign nobody who will take at least a year, if not longer, to get up to speed is insane. There has to be a domestic option we can get who can deliver what we need here and now, not in 18 months - @daniel_tortoise

If anyone thought NCFC had a chance in the derby, that's gone now - Karen Pardoe

No other club is going to pay anywhere near £10m for Nunez. We have literally had no other bids for him, let alone a crazy number like £10m - @JRPG_me

Selling Nunez for that amount of money, letting Gunn go, and not even speaking to Martin are all correct decisions, but the business first, unemotional manner in which they’ve been handled needs heavy reflection from the club - @Craig_Draycott

No other club came in for Nunez during the summer transfer window yet "heavily linked with Premier League clubs' says it all really. Taking big chunk of money for someone who gets injuries more than he plays is a good deal - @Shanebarber1993

I look forward to Mirko Topic going through Nunez in the derby then screaming “Luvly jubbly” in his face - @RobinNCST

Is it really worth sacrificing the goodwill and support of the fanbase for £10m?  - @mickynairn

Mattsson is not a direct replacement, however they or fans want to hype it up, he really isn’t. We lack any creativity, even with Nunez in the 11. We have even less now. Big few days for Knapper. I feel for Manning - @IanGabelli

Nunez is a great risk taker and when it comes off it looks excellent. The problem with that is in a two-man midfield the team is very exposed when his risks don’t come off. We have seen countless examples of him gifting possession in dangerous positions over the last three easons - @BethnalYG

You just do not sell to them!!! Manning should certainly know this! Knapper has been in football long enough to know what rivalry is. Such a shame that Núñez will now always be known as a rat - @KevBarnbrook

Now in the cold light of day, I understand it, financially getting 3x a player’s value is never a bad thing (especially for one with his injury record). My anger is more directed at Nunez, we gave him a lot of love as fans and the fact he rejected us and wanted them is traitorous - @NCFCPete

It will give the players that more desire to beat that lot in October now. Kenny will get them fired up. You don’t join THEM! - Paul English

It has happened before.I guess the club sees it as a good deal for a player less than a year on his contract - Brian Bales

Great money for a player in last year of contract, Ipswich panic buying - Steven Marney

Could be a long season… Marcel Gray

Decent money for someone with a year left of contract but bitter pill to swallow. Not Knapper’s fault ….. Dave Rogers

The hierarchy at NCFC have lost the plot. A poor start to the season, now this - Robert Hardy

Shows a lack of respect to the fanbase - Liam Knights

Our best midfielder going to our bitter rivals. When they are already losing the faith early in the season. This could go very sour quick. Lots of non renewals for season tickets - James Conway
