Acle United Ladies entertained Dereham Town Ladies, with the chance of clinching the league title with two games left to play.

They achieved this with an 11-0 victory with a great squad performance.

The sun was shining and a bumper crowd was in town for this encounter,

Acle got off to the perfect start with a goal within the first two minutes with Baker beating the keeper from the edge of the box.

After that the game settled down and both teams had lots of possession.

After 25 minutes Acle did get their second and that was claimed by Ashman, by this time Acle started to look good all around the pitch with neat one-twos and interplay Ashman soon made it three and then Baker made it four and claimed her hat-trick.

Just before half time the goal of the game was scored by Emily Anderson after some good play from the back through midfield and Hooper found Emily with a lovely through pass and she finished with a lovely strike in-off the woodwork.

Half time 5-0.

The second half continued in very much the same fashion with Dereham not really seeing a great deal of the ball but Acle were scoring at a frequent rate with Boast getting a cracker from the edge of the box, and Jordan claiming a brace, then Anderson got her second of the game, Boast then let fly and was denied by the crossbar but Baker was on hand to claim her fourth, obviously by this time the game was effectively over and the championship was Acle’s but credit to Dereham for never giving up,

Final score Acle Utd 11, Dereham 0.

Overall a great squad performance not just in this game but every game this season and to win 16 from 16 in any league is a great achievement and they thoroughly deserve their rewards for this season.
