Adkins' name cropped up in the national media yesterday, but Iron chairman Steve Wharton said he has no intention of allowing his manager to leave the Championship club.
“I have heard nothing from Norwich about Nigel - and I hope it stays that way,” he said.
Southend's Steve Tilson distanced himself from the vacancy on Saturday, the day after City sacked Bryan Gunn.

City are at Brentford on Tuesday night and are not expected to have a new manager in place, with assistant Ian Butterworth confirming at the weekend that he had been asked to take charge of the team again.
Steve Coppell, Adrian Boothroyd and Lawrie Sanchez are other names being mentioned, along with Gordon Strachan.
