Ady Gallagher will ask his depleted Lowestoft Town squad for a repeat of their midweek heroics this afternoon.

A late goal by Rory McAuley earned the Blues a valuable three points against Thurrock and Gallagher is determined to make the most of another home game when Harrow Borough come to town.

With untimely injuries rearing their ugly head, Gallagher will demand more of the positive elements from Tuesday night.

“We know as a squad if we perform to our best levels and take opportunities we can win games of football,” said Gallagher. “Against Thurrock we kept battling away but it wasn’t just a dogged performance, there was a lot of good quality in that game. We retained possession well. I was very pleased with some of the good qualities we showed - and when we got the late goal, we managed out the remaining minutes well too.

“I was really happy with the performance – all you can ask of any team is to roll their sleeves up and fight for each other. We know we have a lot of quality in the side to win games of football this year, if not every game then plenty of games.

“It hasn’t all come together in games really – we have just lacked in little areas.

“The other night all we asked was they fight for each other and earn the right to play the way they wanted to play. It was a tough game but we came through and the players got the reward for their work and it is a good basis to move forward on.

“Harrow will give us something else to think about – they were in a relegation spot last year, but were reprieved and often when that happens people take that opportunity and I think that is what they have done. It is a fresh start and they have started the season on fire.”

“But we need to put in the same level of performance as we put in on Tuesday.”

Gallagher’s plans haven’t been helped by another injury, with Rossi Jarvis breaking two toes and out for up to six weeks, joining Ollie Humphrey (fractured fibula) and the suspended Travis Cole on the sidelines. However, Gallagher has signed former Dereham midfielder Sam Borrer, who has been training with the club this season after time out of the game travelling.
