After dreadful overnight conditions put paid to 16 of the morning’s scheduled games, plenty more still went ahead on a sunny but very windy morning.

In the Premier, AFC Wanderers failed to take advantage of leaders Marlborough’s inactivity as despite goals from Dan Barrowclough and Danny Pennall; they were held to a 2-2 draw by Fiveways. There was a brace for Andy Hanby and a goal for Nicky May as Norwich Busmen beat Dog House 3-1 and there were ten goals in the game between Hellesdon Ath and Bayer, with the home side scoring six of them.

Windmill Wanderers are the new leaders of 1A. Gary Walsh grabbed yet another hat-trick, whilst Ross Joy, Dom Sanders and Major Thornton were also on target. Sprowston Sunday are second on goal difference, after a 3-2 (Darren Maxey 2, og) win at DCS Rapid. The Dussindale Rovers recovery continues as they won 4-1 at North Walsham and Vale Longo moved up into fourth spot after a 10-3 win at home to Eaton. Vale doubled their season’s goal tally thanks to goals by Justin Womack (5), Steve Churchill (4), and Jason Drake. Hockering and Aslacton shared six goals for a point each.

In 1B, the leaders St Faith’s game at Earlham Utd was abandoned due to an injury to their goalkeeper to whom the league sends its best wishes, and the division’s only other game produced a goal-fest as Chris Holmes (3), Ryan Creasey and Jamie Moore scored for Prince of Denmark in a 5-5 home draw with Unicorns. The visitors’ five goals came from Neil McGreevy 2, Nathan Turner, Ross Brannigan and Mathew Jacobs, one of which was in the last minute.

In 2A, leaders Riverside Rovers thumped 10 without reply against The Stores and are now eight points clear of Norman Wanderers Res who have two games in hand.

I was at a very windy Thorpe School, where The Cottage entertained New Buckenham and raced into a two-goal lead through Mark Cage and Will Layton. But the visitors hit back and were level before half-time thanks to Harley Durrant and Martin Andrews. Cage added his second after a clever lob beat the keeper and despite a Osa Odeh penalty miss, The Cottage held on to take the three points in a game played in the right spirit. There was a couple of goals for Dan King and one for Friday Akpobome as Dancing Farmers continued their decent run by beating Stoke 3-1. A hat-trick for Glen Jones and a further goal by Danny Roche put an end to the 100 per cent record of 2B leaders Bell Inn as they were beaten 4-1 by Ribs Rovers. SDC Utd had a 2-0 (Danny Mcilwrath 2) home win over Hillside OB, whilst DEF and Briston Wanderers drew 3-3.

In 3A, Bungay Town have opened up an eight point gap at the top after winning 8-3 at River Garden. A single Brad Farrow goal was enough to shock second placed Sporting Longdale as Eaton Young Boys beat them and Brooke needed an equalizer two minutes from time to take a point at Temple Bar.

It’s all change again with the leaders of 3B. Hainford Howitzers returned to the top with a 4-1 win at Windmill Elite. William Wanderers moved up to second after winning 3-2 at Schoolhouse. Chapelfield Rovers are fifth after winning 6-2 at Earlham Colney and Costessey Sports were 6-3 winners over bottom side Salhouse Rovers Res.

The two games played in 4A brought wins for Micawbers Tavern, 6-1 over Hockering Res and Sporting Longdale Res who were 4-0 ( Sam Huetson, Brad Warr, Nick Clark, og) victors at The Stores Res.

In 4B, AFC Oak had a 6-3 home win over Red Lion and are a point behind Mettingham who were 2-0 winners over Bunwell Sunday. Locksley Ath beat Spixworth Res 2-0 to make it three wins in a row.
