Leeds chief Simon Grayson and Charlton boss Phil Parkinson are both nominated for their clubs' unbeaten starts to the league campaign. Grayson has also guided Leeds to a high-profile League Cup third round tie at home to Liverpool after knocking out Watford.
MK Dons boss Paul Ince is the third nominee following three league wins on the bounce following back-to-back goalless draws. Brentford's young manager Andy Scott completes the list. The newly-promoted Bees won two and drew three of their league games.
