Mousehold 0, Drayton 7

After a successful run of games and safety secured in the league, Mousehold's attention turned to the Division One KO Cup.

On a cold midweek evening and with a rush for everybody from work, things didn't start well, an early mistake led to Drayton taking the lead after just 10 minutes.

Despite a trademark Mark Brandish fingertip-save shortly after things got worse 17 minutes in with an own goal making it 2-0 and presenting Mousehold with an up-hill struggle. Things did not improve, and Mousehold were grateful of the half-time whistle after Drayton got another goal to make it 3-0 at the break.

The second half started well and Mousehold looked to threaten a fightback, but it was not to be. A fourth goal inside the first 10 for Drayton, and the Mousehold heads seemed instantly to turn to the next match, a semi-final against Yelverton. Their concentration slipping away. A further three goals and injuries to Brett Macey, Stevie Wildey and Nick Tyrell during the game made it a bad evening all round.

It was an evening to forget. It's a tough game coming up. The manager wants to see the Mousehold of the previous weeks turning up, and not the Mousehold of Tuesday evening. Here's to the next game, believe in yourselves - when you all put your heads to it, you can beat anyone in the league.
