Hellesdon Belles finally kicked off their season away to last season’s league champions Costessey Ladies.
They got off to the worst possible start and went 1-0 down after 11 seconds.
But the Belles bounced back and held their own until the final kick of the first half to make it 2-0 despite Janet’s best efforts.
The Belles gave it a go in the second half with debutantes Gail, Jessica and Kenna all having good spells.
But it was the ‘old guard’ Rae and Heather who kept Costessey at bay.

Costessey did score two more but thanks to JB, Kim and Viv it was only two. Bel had a great run out up front and it was Gail who scored Belles’ goal.
Final score: Costessey Ladies 4, Hellesdon Belles 1.
