A decent-sized crowd despite the weather turned up at Easton College to watch the Division One play-off between Vale Longo and Bayer FC.

Bayer took the lead after three minutes when a shot from Lee Robbins from the edge of the area took a slight deflection to decieve Longo keeper Mark Woods.

Woods produced two great saves in the space of a minute as Bayer created the better chances in the first half, and whilst Vale longo played some neat football at times, it was the team from 1B, that looked the more threatening. A penalty eight minutes from time from Bayer captain Danny Nelson sealed the victory for a Bayer side who will be a good addition to the Premier Divison.

Vale Longo, who only missed out on winning their league on goal difference, will surely be amongst the front runners in 1A next season. The game was very well handled by referee Larry Chote and his assistants Mark Ames and Ian Selwood. The two other fixtures were postponed due to the weather.
