Brighton winger Elliott Bennett – who wanted to sign for the Canaries in January – says he is not envious of their promotion to the Premier League.
Albion rejected a Norwich bid of about 1 million for Bennett and he went on to help them to the League One title.
Bennett told The Argus: “There is no envy whatever. That’s not something that is in me to be envious. What an achievement for them, getting promoted back-to-back.
“If we can copy their success I think everyone would be happy. It just shows how a winning mentality, a good team and good group of players can achieve success.”
The Seagulls’ former captain, Andrew Crofts, clinched promotion with City and Bennett said: “I’m buzzing for Crofty, because he is a friend of mine and everyone at the club wished him well.”
