BOHEMIANS U12 GIRLS played Shrublands in the League Cup final and won on penalties 4-3.

Shrublands' free-flowing football was countered by Boh's defensive counter-attacking.

The game was well dealt with by the ref which allowed the game to flow.

Bohs scored first when Tink's inswinging corner was not dealt with by the Shrublands keeper and under pressure by Poppy and Megan, spilled the ball into the back of the net.

Bohs then pressured for a second goal to be caught out at the back by a swift Shrubs attack.. In the second half both teams stepped up a gear to try and win it in normal time.

Both teams had chances to finish this game off, but some outstanding goalkeeping and solid defending kept the score level. Extra-time came and went with the score locked at 1-1.

It went to 1-1 on penalties with both keepers on form and saving four penalties each. It then went onto sudden death with Boh's winning 4-3 with the winning penalty scored by Rhea. Bohs beat undoubtedly the best football side in their league.

They are now league winners 2009.thanks to Molly, Megan and Poppy for changing their school commitments at the last minute and playing for Bohs.

That showed good commitment to the team. Thanks to Julie and the Shrublands girls for a great and memorable football experience.
