BRANDON LADIES had a comfortable 8-1 victory over Shotley Rose, taking them to top spot in the Suffolk Women’s League.

After early Brandon pressure Shotley scored with their first attack but they responded well scoring at regular intervals through Forshaw (3) and Brame.

Credit to Shotley who continued to work hard but could not prevent further strikes from Forshaw, Brame, Love and Wolverton. Walton worked tirelessly in midfield for Brandon giving the visitors few opportunities with the defence mopping up well when needed.

This victory has put Brandon in a great position going into the last few games of the season.

It really is in their hands.

BRANDON LASSES U10 beat Waveney Vixens 7-0 in a fabulous game, staying strong throughout.

Brandon had most of the play, but struggled to finish off many creative moves. The second half saw Brandon dominate, which resulted in six goals in 20 minutes. Fraya pulled off a great save, Louise K, Millie and Faye were all brilliant in defence.

Jess, Alexis and Melissa consistently controlled the midfield. Amaris and Shannon attacked skilfully time and again. Fabulous result girls. Scorers were Alexis Coleman (2), Amaris Tyynismaa (2), Jessica Morley, Melissa Boulton and Louise Kennedy. PoM: Alexis Coleman.

BRANDON LASSES U11 beat East Bergholt 6-1 in a solid performance. Two goals in the first half from Coleman and one from Richardson saw the Lasses go in at half-time with a comfortable 3-0 lead.

The second half saw the Lasses continue to dominate with plenty of chances for Brandon. Nolan added Brandon’s fourth with a great strike from the edge of the box before Bergholt pulled one back after a mix-up in the Brandon defence.

Nolan then added her second, and Whybrow scored an excellent goal from a corner to finish the game 6-1 to Brandon. PoM: Alexis Coleman.

BRANDON LASSES U12 beat Colt Jags 4-0. Brandon Lasses found Colt Jags difficult to break down for the first 20 minutes with the Jags getting bodies behind the ball. Great battling on the right by Ellesse, winning the ball and crossing to find Millie, who finished well on 21 minutes to give the Lasses a well-deserved lead.

The Lasses added a second just before half-time when great link-up play between Lucy P and Ellesse, and then finished by Millie giving the Lasses a 2-0 lead at half-time. The Lasses started the second half well, going close from the kick-off.

Not for the first time this season Brandon failed to capitalise on their possession and domination of games creating lots of chances, but just not finding the finish. Five minutes into the second half Brandon finally found the net again, with Millie completing her hat-trick after a good passing move.

The Lasses added a fourth after the ball pin-balled around the box, first Amy had a shot saved, and then Georgia’s shot rebounded off a post falling at Lucie C’s feet, who duly hit the back of the net to give Lasses a 4-0 victory. PoM: Millie Bales.

BRANDON LASSES U13 confirmed their place as league champions with a hard-fought away victory at Kirton Kestrels.

With first and second-choice keeper not available, Field stood in between the posts, clearing her lines on several occasions but with Page, Coleman and Odebrecht solid at the back she was well protected.

Zawiasa, O’Malley, Slater and Jamgochian worked tirelessly in a crowed midfield feeding Masters up front. Brandon took the lead from an Oderbrecht corner tucked in at the far post by Masters.

She then scored her second late in the half breaking from her own half and then tucking the ball away. Zawiasa made it three with a lovely finish after picking the ball up wide left for a half-time score of 3-0.

Kirton worked hard throughout the game and changed things at half-time with good effect pulling a goal back but the Lasses responded well with further goals.

Jamgochian produced a good finish across the keeper and Master completed a well deserved hat-trick after good work in midfield by O’Malley. Well done to whole squad for a great achievement.

Now they will be aiming to finish the season off in style.
