Brandon Town took full advantage of their weather-struck rivals to take over the leadership of the Dolphin Autos Anglian Combination Premier Division.

While morning leaders Sheringham's home game against Wroxham Reserves was among four top division postponements, Brandon beat Halvergate 3-0 with goals from John Waites, Shaun Wegg and Sean Brown to go a point clear at the top - with two games in hand.

It was also a good day for Norwich Union as a single goal from Norfolk cricket captain Paul Bradshaw proved enough to beat Mattishall and lift themselves out of the bottom two at the expense of the inactive Attleborough.

The plight of bottom club St Andrews, however, looks increasingly hopeless after they lost at home to a goal from Acle's Lee Brewer.

In the only other Premier Division game played, Dersingham won 1-0 at Beccles to move into the top six, Nelson Modeira scoring the goal.

In Division One, Gayton United closed the gap on leaders Hindringham, whose game against Watton bit the mud, by beating Mundford 3-1.

Goals from Jonathan Bunting, Simon Bush and Adam Elden took them above Holt into second place after the latter lost 2-1 at Wells Town - two goals from James Frary doing the damage.
