Bungay Town Ladies once again gave a strong Norwich City Reserves a close run game and despite losing 4-2 can be very pleased with the way they played.

Norwich started playing with the strong wind in their favour but Bungay could have gone ahead in the opening minute as Kim Roberts was put in on goal by a slick Bungay move but the Norwich keeper blocked her effort, Norwich took the lead when a corner found its way directly into the net on the strong wind.

Bungay bravely battled back and when Kim Roberts went down the left and crossed superbly for the waiting Michelle Stanborough to equalise, Remy Dowe in the Bungay goal produced a tremendous flying save to tip a Norwich shot over the bar but right on half time Norwich put a forward through to score.

In the second half Bungay pushed Norwich back but could not find a way through, and when they late on pushed centre back Emily Leach forward to look for a way to score they got caught on the break twice by quick Norwich breaks to give a rather unfair look to the score but Bungay did not give up and sub Rio Darlaston produced the best goal of the game, shooting home from 25 yards.

Player of the match: Emily Robins.
