The outstanding ties in the REW Subsidiary Cup were completed in the NPSS Security Services NEN League, when the two Division One sides were made to work hard before advancing into the next round.

Haisboro Athletic, thanks to a brace from Tom Crabb eventually saw off Blakeney by the odd goal of three with Ben Gallon netting for the visitors. It took East Ruston a long while to overcome their hosts Hickling by a 5-2 margin with Mark Burton claiming a hat-trick, also on target were Nick Stride and Luis Holden with Chris Brown and Jordan Cook netting for Hickling. Aylsham ‘A’ won the other tie away at Ludham by the odd goal of three.

A New Year but it’s business as usual at the top of the Slater & Frith Division One with both the top two recording wins, leaders 4-1 home winners over North Walsham ‘A’ and Gimingham going nap at Horning. Mundesley also were home victors, 4-0 over Worstead.

Cromer Youth Old Boys now lead the Wayford Nurseries Division Two by four points having played two games less than second placed Plumstead, and they did their promotion chances no harm whatsoever when they recorded a really good result away a Cawston, when thanks to a Daryl Harrod hat-trick and one from Lee Harrod they ran out 4-0 winners. Second-placed Plumstead picked up their three points from a 4-2 home win over Holt ‘A’. Aldborough won away at Corpusty Reserves by a 4-0 margin, whilst Erpingham proved far too strong for Gimingham Reserves scoring a double figure victory.

Things are really getting interesting at the top of the Knights Trophies Division Three with just a point splitting the top two from the same number of games and Felmingham are five points off the top with a game in hand, so it’s really now all to play for. Felmingham enhanced their chances considerably when they beat league leaders Trunch 3-1, Southrepps moved within a point of top spot following their 5-3 away win at Plumstead Reserves. East Ruston Reserves hit eight away at Aldborough Reserves who replied twice, whilst it looks as if Erpingham Reserves needed some help from their first team fire power as they crashed 6-0 away at Mundesley Reserves.
