Graham Potter has sympathy with Norwich City’s injury plight but praised Brighton’s ruthless edge in a 2-0 Premier League win.

The Seagulls' third consecutive home victory pushed them into the top 10 after a merited win on the south-coast.

Potter paid tribute to the work of Daniel Farke to turnaround the Canaries' fortunes in the build up and the Seagulls' chief believes the tide can turn.

"I thought we managed the game well and deserved to win the contest," he said.

"It was a difficult match. They hit the bar, they make it difficult in terms of over-loading you in certain areas of the pitch and I have a lot of respect for them. They have suffered with defensive injuries, which affects you, but I am sure when they get those guys back they will pick up points.

"We want to keep the home form going, everyone would say that the most important relationship is the one that you have with your home supporters.

"It took a bit of time to feel familiar with how we're playing, but three victories here at the Amex is good for us, now we just have to focus on the next match and see if we can improve further.

"It was another good afternoon for us and it's pleasing to get the three points and a clean sheet."

Patience was the key for Potter to eventually overcome a stubborn Canaries in the final quarter.

"We're attacking well at the moment and I thought we played with courage and intelligence," he said. "We won't get carried away and the table doesn't mean too much at this stage. We need to enjoy this and then get ready for Manchester United next weekend.

"We had to be disciplined and I thought we scored at the right time. We had to be patient, sometimes when you're the home side and the emphasis is on you to make something happen it can be challenging.

"We had someone like Leo (Trossard) to come in when the game became stretched and he showed his quality.

"In the final third he is especially good because he can see a pass, he can finish and he makes good decisions and that is often the most important place to do that."
