Talk is cheap for Christoph Zimmermann as Norwich City bid to revive their Premier League survival bid.

The Canaries face a daunting Carrow Road date with Liverpool this weekend, but need wins to haul themselves to safety.

City's brand of football under Daniel Farke has earned warm words from plenty of pundits, with Danny Murphy recently labelling them the best Premier League side to sit bottom of the table he had seen, but that is not going to cut it for the big centre back.

"I am a bit tired of repeating myself but we have to make it count. We have been saying that for the last 10 weeks," said Zimmermann. "So many games when pundits are saying it is probably the best football they have seen from a side at the bottom in this league. Ever. But we are not playing to be recognised for a decent brand of football. We are here to try and get results. We don't get enough otherwise we wouldn't be in this position. But we have been here for the last 10 games or so.

"Before the season everybody would have expected that, so in that respect it is not a surprise. We would have wished for a different situation and to be closer to the relegation line. Now we have to keep going, keep believing and hope it will turn. The last three games we have taken four points but we had chances for seven or maybe even nine."

Zimmermann hopes the mid-winter break can help the likes of Teemu Pukki and his international pals recharge for the final push.

Pukki fired blanks at Newcastle in a 0-0 stalemate prior to the break, and Zimmermann accepts others need to step up.

"You see how much he is working for the team," he said. "He knows he can score goals at this level. He has been our main goalscorer and he can be very happy in general with the number of goals he has scored but apart from Todd (Cantwell) he hasn't had enough support. We need to be there from set plays, you saw Grant (Hanley's) goal at Burnley.

"The winter break in Germany is more or less two weeks off from training. That won't happen here. It is more or less like an international break. Those boys can get some rest. They have a chance to take a breath and in terms of the load that is good for those guys."
