Norwich City have confirmed their EFL Cup first round tie with Luton Town will be played on Saturday, September 5 - meaning the Canaries could be without as many as 15 players for the fixture.
City were drawn to face the Hatters on Tuesday, and will travel to Kenilworth Road hoping to progress to the second round of the competition.
Watford and AFC Bournemouth won’t feature in the first-round, with the Canaries included after finishing bottom of the Premier League last season.
But the Canaries could be without a plethora of their first-team squad, owed to international duty which overlaps with this fixture.
So far, Tim Krul and Przemyslaw Placheta have been confirmed in the Netherlands and Poland Under-21 sides respectively.
Teemu Pukki could also be a high-profile absentee as Finland prepare to face Wales and the Republic of Ireland during the upcoming international window.
Josip Drmic could also miss the fixture - with the striker potentially set for a Switzerland call-up, leaving the Canaries with Adam Idah as their only striker unless they manage to sign a fresh option in the interim.
Idah would have been due to link up with Ireland’s under-21 side, but they have postponed their scheduled international fixtures and won’t play again until October.
The Canaries could find themselves without a first-team goalkeeper for the game, with Michael McGovern available for Northern Ireland and third choice keeper Dan Bardan selected in the Wales under-19s squads previously.
In total, City could be without 15 players should they all be called up for international duty with their respective countries.
Danel Sinani (Luxembourg), Kenny McLean (Scotland), Grant Hanley (Scotland), Max Aarons (England under-21s), Oliver Skipp (England under-21s), Kieran Dowell (England under-21s), Ben Godfrey (England under-21s), Todd Cantwell (England under-21s), Jacob Sorensen (Denmark under-21s) and Bali Mumba (England under-19s) could also miss the fixture.
The tie will be played behind-closed doors, with the current plans being that a portion of supporters could potentially return to stadiums from October 1.
