Daniel Farke is braced for the comparisons with Jurgen Klopp to go into overdrive ahead of Norwich City’s Premier League opener at Liverpool.

The two German bosses will go head to head at Anfield on August 9, after both passing through Borussia Dortmund earlier in their coaching careers.

Klopp spoke of his admiration for the Canaries last season and revealed he was following City's results closely, having worked with the likes of Mario Vrancic, Moritz Leitner and Marco Stiepermann in the past.

Farke is braced for the inevitable sideshow in the build up, with the eyes of the world on Norwich's opening night trip to the champions of Europe.

"No, it's not annoying. In general it is a good sign if you are mentioned alongside a world class coach and we are able to compete on the same field," he said. "I know how the football business works.

"Two German coaches, two coaches who worked for Borussia Dortmund and the interest there in this connection. I am full of respect for Jurgen's work. At Mainz, at Dortmund and now at Liverpool he delivered outstanding performances.

"Of course we want to be successful at Anfield so my fingers are crossed. I wish him the best in every other game this season, apart from the first one and one in February."

Both coaches also have something else in common. The prospect of a quiet end to the transfer window.

"I am pretty realistic. Of course we would like to add some quality but we know we have to compete with the tools we have," said Farke, speaking to Skysports on Thursday. "That is what we are trying to do.

"I won't complain. I am happy with my group of players so I expect a quiet final two weeks.

"We always want to add some quality but you have to accept our possibilities and we know we can't compete with the big clubs for the big players."

Klopp has so far only brought in Dutch teenager Sepp Van Den Berg this summer.

"We are still looking, but it will not be the (biggest) transfer window of LFC," he said. "It just will be a transfer window. If we can bring somebody else in that makes it even better, we will see.

"But if not, this team is already there. And again we will have to find solutions at different moments."
