Daniel Farke insists it is unfair to brand him or his shot-shy Norwich City players ‘naive’ as they toil at the bottom of the Premier League.
Farke was critical of City's lack of punch in both boxes after a 3-0 defeat at Wolves he labelled a 'missed opportunity' to close the gap on relegation rivals.
Norwich host Champions League-chasing Leicester City at Carrow Road on Friday, striving to end a barren run of three games without a goal, and Farke knows time is running out to find that cutting edge.
"I am not closing the book on this season. Although it is not easy to go on with the belief," he said.
"Of course we have asked for them to be ruthless and clinical and brutal from the start of this season. It's not like we were naive from the opening game and thought we just needed to produce some beautiful football. We knew we had to be unbelievably effective.

"We spoke publicly about this before the Liverpool game. You can't expect to create 10 one against one situations on the keeper against these type of teams. You might perhaps have one, and in that game we had the situation with Lukas (Rupp) and Teemu (Pukki). It's definitely a part of our game we have to add but we have shown this.
"Against Manchester City we were unbelievably effective in using the chances we did create."

Alex Tettey apologised to the travelling support at Wolves on behalf of the squad for a below-par display, and Farke expects the right reaction from a dressing room hurting at the manner of their Molineux reverse.
"Each player has to be self-critical, to know themselves right now we must step up," said the Norwich head coach.
"We can't feel sorry for ourselves. We can show a better body language than we did at times against Wolves. I had to accuse my attacking players a bit in this game, but we have proven we can score goals.
"I was more annoyed with our lack of physicality.
"You can see many teams have more physical threats. That is normal when you can spend £20m or £30m on a player who is technically good and also has that physicality but we can still be sharper and show we are capable to fight in the duels.
"But I thought the reaction when we conceded a third said a lot about the character and the spirit in my team."
